The DCD-SX is Denon's definitive statement in SACD and CD replay. Like the DCD-2010AE, it uses Denon's proprietary Advanced SVH transport, with its low centre of gravity and well damped mechanism. Figuring large in its construction is a cast iron base. On top of this is a rigic die-cast Zinc mechanism case which houses a cast aluminium disc tray, to the underside of which is fixed a copper plate. The disc clamp/stabiliser combines teflon, aluminium and brass in its construction.

Both analogue and digital sections have separate mains transformers, whose outputs are then further divided into separate individual supplies. Within the digital section, noise and interference are reduced through the use of differential data transmission, while the new Advanced AL32 processing offers improved transient response and lower levels of post-filter ringing.
Denon's Master Clock Core not only has its own separate power supply, but Denon have gone further than usual in non-laboratory equipment by placing it inside a low-temperature oven, to minimise the effects of ambient temperature fluctuations on the quartz oscillation circuit. The clock signals for all other circuit sections are derived from this main master clock, rather than having their own separate clocks.
