In their new flagship headphones, Beyerdynamic claim to have surpassed the performance of their own DT 990 thanks to a complete driver redesign. The T1 features transducers with a high-power magnetic circuit, whose flux density exceeds one Tesla, apparently endowing these 600ohm headphones with improved dynamics and impulse fidelity; in fact, the company quotes a distortion figure of less than 0.05%.
Offered as the perfect partner for the T1 is the A1 amplifier. Selling for £978, this diminutive component features an Alps volume control, oversized toroidal mains transformer, and a frequency response, even with demanding loads, stretching up to a claimed 96kHz.
